Urban Taco was born from a deep love for Mexican cuisine and a desire to honor both African American and Mexican heritage. As the child of a Black mother and a Mexican father, I, the founder Jasmine Martinez, created a platform to celebrate identity, culture, and the power of food to bring people together. Every taco we serve is a reflection of that passion and a tribute to the rich traditions that inspire us.
At Urban Taco, we don’t play by the rules. We’re all about creativity, bold flavors, and inclusivity. Our menu goes far beyond traditional offerings with options like jerk salmon tacos, honey barbecue pork carnitas, and flavorful vegan mushroom tacos. We’re licensed, insured, and ServSafe certified, bringing authentic fusion cuisine to events across Richmond and Central Virginia.

The best of both the worlds, Land and sea. Grilled steak and shrimp, peppers, onions, mozzarella cheese drizzled with yum yum sauce.
CARNE ASADA BEEF TACOS

Juicy and tender ribeye steak chopped to perfection and marinated in citrus fruits and spices. Served with pico de gallo, mexican sour cream and cotija cheese.
